Nara

On Thursday, we traveled south to the city of Nara. There we saw Horu-ji and Todai-ji, two of the oldest wooden buildings in the world. Both are Buddhist temples. Todaiji had the largest Buddha I've ever seen! I cannot believe how large these wood structures are...and the detail!
One on the many things I love about Japan are the beautiful colors. I don't know if it is just the season, but all the trees and shadows create this beautiful palette that is breathtaking! One thing I did not expect is how cold it is!! I've had to bundle up for sure.
